Utah County Police has arrested parents over this weekend, for providing drugs to their child on the day she was born. Colby Glen Wilde, 29, and Lacey Dawn Christenson, 26, are charged with drug distribution and child endangerment, authorities said.

According to some online sources, the mother Christenson used he r o i n heavily during her pregnancy due to which their child born on 9 April was born drug addicted.

Authorities reportedly encountered Wilde for the first time while they were responding to reports of a theft at a Walmart in Spanish Fork on June 26.

The Utah County Sheriff's spokesperson Spencer Cannon said,

It makes me sick to my stomach, for a number of reasons. You've got an infant who can't do anything for herself, and the people who should be providing her nurture, and love and care, are the ones who are harming their child

Investigators reported several informants told parents of drug addicted babies will sometimes take either Suboxone or methadone, crush it up.

The mother herself admitted the offense that she gave some crushed Suboxone pills to the infant's gum while nurses and other medical staffs were out of the ward.
