World Cup Stadium of Brazil

The 20th FIFA World Cup i.e 2014 FIFA World Cup is being hosted for the second by Brazil, the 5 times winner of the cup. In the World Cup, there are twelve stadiums in twelve different locations. The seven of the stadium are new whereas five were renovated.  Out of Eighteen potential host cities, only twelve were announced to be hosting the matches which were announced in 31 May 2009. Rejected cities are: Belem, Campo Grande, Florianopolis, Goiania and Rio Branco. The twelve cities are each capital of the states and covers all the main region of Brazil.

Stadiums, their locations and Capacity of Stadium:

1.       Estadio do Maracana

 It is situated in Rio de Janerio, RJ having capacities of 74,738 Spectators which was renovated and is confirmed for Group, Knock-out and Final match. It is the Large Stadium out of all selected stadiums.

2.       Estadio Nacional

It is situated in Brasilia, DF having capacities of 69,432 spectators which in the newly made stadium and is confirmed for Group, Knock-out and Third place matches.

3.       Arena de Sao Paulo

It is situated in Sao Paulo, SP having capacities of 62,601 spectators which is the newly made stadium for the World Cup and is announced for Group, Knock-out matches.

4.       Estadio Castelao

It is situated in Fortaleza, CE having capacities of 60,348 spectators which is renovated for the World cup and is announced for Group, Knock-out matches.

5.       Estadio Mineirao

It is situated in Belo Horizonte, MG having capacities of 58,259 spectators which is renovated for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

6.       Estadio Beira-Rio

It is situated in Porto Alegre, RS having capacities of 43,394 spectators which is renovated for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

7.       Arena Fonte Nova

It is situated in Salvador, BA having capacities of 51,708 spectators which is a newly made stadium for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

8.       Arena Pernambuco

It is situated in Recife, PE having capacities of 42,583 spectators which is a newly made stadium for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

9.       Arena Pantanal

It is situated in Ciuaba, MT having capacities of 41,112 spectators which is a newly made stadium for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

10.    Arena de Amazonia

It is Situated in Manaus , AM having capacities of 40,549 spectators which is a newly made stadium for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

11.   Arena das Dunas

It is situated in Natal, RN having capacities of 39,971 spectators which is a newly made Stadium for the World Cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.

12.   Arena da Baixada

It is situated in Curitiba, PR having capacities of 39,631 spectators which is renovated for the World cup tournament and is announced for Group, knock-out matches.
