by Joey Jordan,

Colombian authorities are reportedly seeking to re-arrest a former hit man for the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar after he was caught partying with a major drug trafficker.

Jhon Jairo Velasquez, popularly known as Popeye's presence at a raucous birthday party for one of the Colombia's most-wanted drug traffickers Juan Carlos Mesa, which according to the Colombian chief prosecutor's office has constituted a serious offense. The United States has been offering a $2 million reward for Mesa's capture.

Police raided the party on Friday where they arrested Mesa who was celebrating his 50th birthday in almost stereotypical narco form. A local newspaper, El Tiempo reported that police arrested more than $40,000 in cash, Jewelry, and seven luxury cars.

Popeye was paroled after he confessed to hundreds of murders and spent 22 years in jail for plotting the murder of a former Colombian presidential candidate.

After he was released, Velasquez notoriously rose as a YouTuber and an author who delivers angry diatribes against the corrupt politicians and Venezuela's socialist government.
