The renowned Spider-Man screenwriter and two-times' Oscar-winner died on Thursday. He died at his home in Seattle on Thursday, 8th May at the age of 92.

He won the Academy awards for the 1977 Holocaust drama Julie which was based on personal writings of Lillian Hellman. Later, he again won the Oscars in 1980 for his work in Ordinary People, a film about a family facing bereavement. He was also nominated in 1974 for Peter Bogdanovich directed Paper Moon.

Sargent will be remembered for his work on Spider-Man series where he wrote the Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007. He also rewrote for the 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man.

Sargent wrote for television before he made his debut on the big screen in 1966 with Gambit, a comedy thriller starring Michael Caine.

It is still unclear about his survivors. He was married to his longtime partner Laura Ziskin who died in 2011, a year after their marriage from breast cancer. The pair spent 25 beautiful years before they tied the knot in 2010.
