Oscar Tabarez
Oscar Tabarez, full name Oscar Washington Tabarez Sclavo also known as El Maestro (The Teacher) is the manager of Uruguay national team and is a former defender also. He coached his Nation Uruguay from 1988-1990 and again came back for the job in 2006 and has been the head coach since 2006. In his 30years of coaching years he has coached teams in Colombia, Argentina, Italy and Spain. His lead got his Current Team Uruguay to the 4th place in 2010 FIFA World Cup and to win the 2011 Copa America. He was born on 3rd March 1947 in Montevideo, Uruguay which makes him 67 years old.
Career
Before Tabarez retired from his playing career at the age of 32 years, he played for clubs like Sud America, Sportivo italiano (Argentina), Montevideo Wanderers, Fenix puebla (Mexico ) and Bella Vista. His managerial career started in 1980 when he retired as a player; he started by coaching at Bella Vista. The next year he was given to manage Uruguay U-20 team. He coached in many clubs but could not settle anywhere. He coached his national club C.A Penarol to win their 5th Copa Libertadores defeating America de Cali in the final. This success brought him the opportunity to coach the Uruguayan national team and he led the team to round 16 in 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. He managed Cagliari Calcio in Serie A after he moved to Italy in 1994. He led the team to ninth place in the 1994-95 seasons and then moved to A.C Milan. He then managed real Oviedo in Spain. He put a halt to football management for four years after two years in Argentina with Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield and Boca. He took charge of the Uruguayan national team in 2006 for the second time after the team failed to qualify for three out of four preceding FIFA World cups he was not with the team. His Leadership saw the team in the fourth place in 2007 Copa America held in Venezuala. And in his leadership the team got to the semi-finals for the first time in 40 years. In 2011 he led the national team to win 2011 Copa America for the 15th time.

While as a manager of Penarol , Oscar led the team to Copa Libertadores in 1987 and InterContinental Cup in 1987. His managerial period in Boca Juniors saw the team win primera Division in 1992 Apertura and Supercopa Masters in 1992. With his national team Uruguay he won Pan American Games in 1983 and Copa America in 2011. Tabarez has been recognized as the South American Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2011.
