Triple Murder-Suicide: Northern California Man Killed Three Children Before Shooting Himself To Death

- Lopez's fourth child, a five-year-old boy was shot in the chest, but he survived and the first responders took him to the hospital in a stable condition.

A Northern California man who was arrested for domestic violence in March and May killed three of his four children before killing himself on Sunday, 12th August.
The man's wife called 911 shortly after midnight reporting the man named Ricardo Garcia Lopez was firing a gun. The first responders found Lopez, 39, dead in his driveway with a firearm, reported Clearlake police.
Authorities said, the children's mother, 25, ran out of the house shortly after midnight on Sunday and made an emergency call. Police didn't reveal the motive of the murder-suicide neither they revealed the type of the gun he used.
Tim Hobbs, the Clearlake Police Sergeant, said in a statement that the couple's three children were found dead inside an SUV parked outside their home. Their children, ages 4 years, 2 years, and 9 months, were dead from the gunshot wounds.
The pair's oldest child, a five-year-old boy was also in the car and was shot in the chest but was alive when the responders arrived the scene and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
According to the reports from Lake County Superior Court, Lopez was arrested in March on a felony charge of inflicting corporal injury on his wife, and he got out on $10,000 bail.
In May, he was arrested again on a misdemeanor complaint of a spousal battery. Lopez pleaded guilty to battery on a non-cohabitating partner was given three years of probation and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
