Nikola Karabatić is a Yugoslavian-born French male handball player. Since 2015, he has been playing as the center back for the Paris Saint-Germain handball team and for the French national handball team.

Nikola Karabatić was born on April 11, 1984, in Niš, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia, the older of two brothers to a Croatian father, Branko Karabatić, a professional handball player in his own right, and a Serbian mother, Radmila Karabatić. He is 36 years old at the time of this writing and stands at 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 meters).  

He was raised with his younger brother in France.

Who Has Nikola Karabatić Played For?

Nikola Karabatić began his professional handball career with the Montpellier HB club. After five years with the club, four of which he spent as the French champion, Karabatić defected to the German handball team, THW Kiel, but not before leading the team to an EHF Champions League win in 2003.

At THW Kiel, he became the German champion in the years 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, and led the team to the EHF Champions League win in 2007. Karabatić returned to France and re-joined Montpellier HB in 2009, playing with the club until 2013.

After brief stints with Pays d'Aix and FC Barcelona, Karabatić joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Handball in 2015 and plays for the esteemed club to this day.

He also plays for the French national team and has won two Olympic gold medals (in 2008 and 2012), four gold medals in the World Championship (in 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2017), and three European Championship gold medals ( in 2006, 2010, and 2014).
