Sad news for the NFL world! Tarvaris Jackson, a former NFL quarterback, pa s sed away on Sunday, April 12. He was 36 years old.
As for his cause of death, he died in a car accident in Montgomery, Alabama.
ESPN, which was first to report the death news, confirmed his pa s sing one day after he involved in the tragic crash. As per the report, his Chevrolet Camaro veered off a roadway, later hitting a tree and flipping over.
The former footballer was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The NFL paid tribute to him on Monday, with a statement on Twitter.
The statement reads,
We are saddened to share the pa s sing of former Vikings, Seahawks, and Bills QB Tarvaris Jackson. He was 36.
Jackson, who played for Alabama State University, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2006 and continued his career for 10 seasons.
He had also played for the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks. He won a Super Bowl in 2013 while playing as a backup quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.
Jackson is survived by his wife, Lakitta, and three children Tarvaris, Tyson and Takayla.
