The older brother of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and a founding member of R&B group After 7, Melvin Edmonds is no more! He died at the age of 65 on Saturday, 18th May, after following a short illness in Indianapolis home.
It was his son named Melvin who confirmed the news. He is survived by his four children; Melvin, Chris, Jason, and Courtney.
After 7 was founded by brothers Melvin, Keith Mitchell, and Kevon in 1987. Melvin’s son, Jason later joined the band after he left the group.
The group was even nominated for Grammy for their 1990 single “Can’t Stop.” They won an NAACP Image Award in the same year.
The singers were widely known for “Heat of the Moment” and “Ready or Not.”
