MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Apologizes for Leaked Tirade
'' A better anchorman and a better person would've had a better reaction to technical difficulties. I'm Sorry'', MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell tweeted after he was seen verbally belittling his staff and cursing during the taping of his show. Mediate leaked the tape.
O' Donnell issued an apology after the clip where he was caught berating his staff leaked. Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Mediate released a series of clips showing O'Donnell cursing repeatedly at his staffers because of some problems with he had with his earpiece. The clip appears to be from The Last Word's August 29 episode.
O'Donnell seems visibly angry at his staffers after complaining a number of times that he could hear someone in the control room talking of matters not related to the show through his earpiece. He mutters ''God Dammit.'' at one point slamming his fists on his desk.
O'Donnell then gets even more upset and starts screaming:
Stop the hammering up there! Who’s got a hammer? Where is it? Where the hammer? Go up on the other floor…I’ll go down to the goddamned floor myself and stop it! Keep the goddamned commercial break going! Call f—ing [MSNBC president] Phil Griffin! I don’t care who the f—k you have to call!
After the furious rant, O'Donnell throws a pen rather violently to the floor and screams further saying,
Jesus Christ, crazy f—ing sound coming in my ear, this f—ing stupid hammering…It just f—ing sucks. It f—ing sucks to be out here with this out of control s–t.
After the leaks, O'Donnell issued an apology saying:
A better anchorman and a better person would've had a better reaction to technical difficulties. I'm sorry.
