Missing Hawaiian Hiker Found Dead Nine Days After He Went Missing

Hawaiian Hiker Noah “Kekai” Mina Was Found Dead On Wednesday Morning After He Went Missing For Nine Days.

Hawaiian hiker Noah “Kekai” Mina, who went missing in the Hawaiian forest, has been found dead after being lost for nine days.

Noah’s body was discovered just five days after another hiker Amanda Eller was found being lost in the forest for seventeen days. His family confirmed the death news via Facebook.

On Wednesday, Neah’s family, including his father Vincent, mother Irene, and sister Kahanulani released a statement on Facebook. The statement claimed:

We are so very sorry that Kekai has pa s sed from this realm, he meant the world to us as a son, brother and friend.

 The family claimed that they were fortunate to have had the time physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually with Noah. They also claimed that Noah made a profound difference in theirs and many other’s lives. He is said to be their sunshine.

Ending the statement, Noah’s family thanked everyone from the depths of their hearts and souls who have supported them while praying to bring him home.

They added:

We appreciate you and can’t thank you enough. Mahalo nui loa pumehana to one and all.

The reported statement included a clip of conservation biologist and geologist from the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources, Keahi Bustamente, who was also a part of the research team.

Keahi along with Hank Oppenheimer and Ho’okahi Alves spotted Noah 300 feet below a fall line in the Mauna Kahalawai’ summit region at around 5 a.m. during a helicopter mission.

Noah’s family previously set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help with the expenditure of rescue and search. The campaign has raised more than $60 thousand.

Noah’s father revealed that his son was dealing with illness before his hike. His father explained that he had a high fever a couple of months ago, which led to psychosis, and his kidneys were beginning to be challenged along after the illness.
