Match-Fixing on Wimbledon, Three Matches Under Suspect, TIU Investigations On-Going

Tennis Integrity Unit has initiated the investigation over three suspicious Wimbledon matches of this year. Two matches from the qualifying tournament and one from the main draw have triggered the alerts for the possible match-fixing.

The TIU based in London announced it is looking into lots of unusual betting patterns over three Wimbledon matches and one match from the last month's French Open.

As per some online reports, the matches will be a s sessed and reviewed by the unit as part of its latest quarterly review which they started after receiving information about the suspicious match-fix from betting companies and regulators.

It's not unusual in the tennis world to trigger alerts for the match-fixing, but the grand slams get the fewer investigations. A year back in January 2016, the BuzzFeed and BBC jointly published an investigation report showing 'widespread match fixing by players at the upper level of world tennis.'

John Templon from the BuzzFeed News reported, "suspicious betting patterns" caught the attention. However, it is still unclear whether the matches are from the men's or women's draw.
