Mark Evan Halperin is a famous American television personality and political analyst. He is also the co-author of “Game Change” and “Double Down: Game Change 2012” with John Heilemann.

Mark also co-hosts MSNBC and Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect”, a political analysis show with Heilemann. 

Early Life and Education

Halperin was born on January 11, 1965. As of now, she is in her late-50s. He is currently the senior political analyst for MSNBC and Bloomberg News. She was born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland to Morton Halperin, a foreign policy expert, and Ina Young. He also has two siblings, David Halperin, and Gary Halperin.

Mark Halperin is also the nephew of Daniel Halperin. He attended Whit Whitman High School. During the summer of 1982, he also lived with a family in Japan as part of the Youth for Understanding program. In 1987, he received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.

Career Highlights 

Halperin’s career in journalism started out as a desk assistant for ABC News and a researcher for World News Tonight in 1988. After that, he worked in the investigative unit of World News Tonight and as an assignment reporter in Washington. He then worked full-time as an off-air producer covering Bill Clinton.

In 1994, Mark was promoted to producer with ABC’s special events unit in New York. Later, he worked as an editorial producer. In 1997, he became the political director for ABC News. He also frequently appeared as a correspondent and political analyst for ABC News television and radio programs.

Mark was also the founder and editor of The Note, which appeared on ABCNews.com daily. In October 2006, he and John F. Harris released their book, The Way to Win: Clinton, Bush, Rove, and How to Take the White House in 2008. He has also been a board member of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics a Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire since 2006.

After the creation of the NHIOP public advisory board in 2008, Mark has been a member of it as well. In February 2009, Halperin met with students and faculty at the NHIOP and gave a public lecture titled "The Obama Administration—The Story So Far".

In 2007, Mark became a political analyst for ABC News and later was hired as a political analyst and editor for TIME magazine. In June 2010, MSNBC hired him as a senior political analyst. TIME has also released an iPad app called “Mark Halperin 2012” containing materials from Mr. Halperin’s “The Page”.

Mark has also written a book with co-author John Heilemann called “Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain, and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime”. It was later made into Game Change, which premiered on HBO on March 10, 2012.

After making an inappropriate on-air comment about President Barack Obama, he was temporarily banned from providing his political views on the MSNBC network.
