Marcos Alonso was born Marcos Alonso Mendoza on December 28, 1990, in Madrid, Spain. He is the son of Spanish footballer, Marcos Alonso Peña, and grandson of former Real Madrid player, Marcos Alonso Imaz. Alonso was raised along with his brother, Miguel Mendoza. He holds Spanish nationality and belongs to the Caucasian ethnicity/race.
Alonso started his football career at Real Madrid. In 2008, he competed in Segunda División B from Real Madrid Castilla 0-1 home loss against AD Alcorcon. The main squad first summoned him for a La Liga match at Valencia CF, but he failed to make the final list of 18. After a year, Alonso made his debut at La Liga against Racing de Santander.

He was driving with three friends including Alonso's friend and former Real Madrid team-mate Jaime Navarro.
In February 2016, Alonso was sentenced to 21 months in prison, but his charges were changed to a €61,000 fine along with three years and four months driving ban.
