It’s been 10 years since DJ AM pa s sed away and his ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore is still mourning on his death.

The This Is Us star, 35, took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 28, and paid tribute to her late musician boyfriend on the 10-year anniversary of his death.

Alongside a photo of DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Michael Goldstein, pointing at a landscape, she wrote,

It’s been 10 years. There are so many times I still find myself wanting to tell you about something funny or strange or excitin.

She added,

I miss your contagious, guttural laugh and your hugs. The best hugs. Miss you every day but today is always hard.

The DJ was found dead in his apartment in New York City on August 28, 2009. He was 36. A medical examiner cited the cause of death as an accidental overdose of cocaine, Oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole.

A crack pipe, prescription drugs and a bunch of cocaine were also found near his dead body. MAndy and DJ AM dated from January to March 2007 but despite their break up, they remained close friends.

Following his death, Mandy had released a statement about how "absolutely heartbroken" she after her ex-boyfriend pa s sed away.
