Man, Who Raped And Impregnated A 10-Year-Old Girl Sentenced To Life In Prison

A South Carolina man, Tony Orlanda Singleton was sentenced to life in prison for raping and impregnating a minor. Singleton, 37, was found guilty on the rape of a 10-year-old girl in April 2016.

Singleton was found guilty on Wednesday over the first-degree criminal sexual a s sault following two day trial at the Hampton County Courthouse.

As per the sources, the DNA sample, that was taken from the fetus after the girl had an abortion matched with the DNA of Singleton, proving him the father.

As per the article published in Mail Online, the girl was watching cartoons in her home in Estill, South Carolina when Singleton came into the room in April 2016. Then, the culprit turned off the light and raped her.

A few months later, the girl's mother took her to a medial to have an abortion. There she told a forensic interviewer how she was forced into having sex with the man, who in terms was a family friend.

Prosecutor Hunter Swanson said on Wednesday,

This girl should be getting ready to go back to school, making friends, braiding her hair – things other girls her age typically are engaged in. Instead, she’s in a courtroom, reliving a horrific ordeal.

Jurors came to the verdict after they found him guilty of the charges after deliberating for less than an hour. Then, Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen announced the life sentence without parole.
