Mali Massacre: More Than 130 Villagers Killed

More than 130 villagers were killed in an attack in Fulani village in central Mali on Saturday, 23rd March. The Dogon tribe-members have been claimed to be involved in the attack.

The Dogon tribe burned the large part of a Muslim Fulani village. According to the reports, the ma s sacre took place as the UN Security Council was visiting the Sahel to evaluate the jihadist threat.

Mayor of the neighboring district, Ouenkoro, Cheick Harouna Sankare told,

The new toll is 115 dead. It is a ma s sacre of Fulani civilians by traditional Dogon hunters.

Meanwhile, the Banka s s town mayor Moulaye Guindo told more than 130 bodies were recovered by the gendarmes where he also added another village nearby Fulani village, Welilngara was also attacked at the same time.

According to the reports, the shooting began on Saturday evening in the village, which has been the scene of frequent attacks and terror, near the border with Burkina Faso.

The Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary-General in Mali, Mahamat Saleh Annadif told reporters that a rapid response force from the Minusma peacekeeping mission was deployed immediately and actions to evacuate the injured were taken.
