Liza Minnelli is a veteran American actress and a singer who has a glorious career in the industry for more than six decades. She is known as 'The queen of Hollywood' or 'The queen of Broadway'.

Liza Minnelli is the receiver of the prestigious awards including prestigious Emmy, Oscar and Tony Award. She is even considered as an American icon and a gay icon.

Liza Minnelli was born on March 12, 1946, in Los Angeles, California to parents Judy Garland, a film actress, and singer and Vincente Minnelli, a film director. Her full name is Liza May Minnelli and her nickname is The Queen of Hollywood/The Queen of Broadway.

She has a half-sister named Lorna and half-brother named Joey from her mother's side and a half-sister named Christiane from her father's side. Kay Thompson and Ira Gershwin are her godparents.

Liza attended New York City's High School of Performing Arts and is a Chadwick School. Liza Minnelli started performing on film since the age of three. She made her in the movie from a small role in the musical In the Good Old Summertime in 1949.

Being born to the family of the entertainment professionals, it had been easy for Liza Minnelli to debut in the entertainment industry. Being guided and trained by her parents, Liza made her remark in the industry. At the age of 19, Liza Minnelli made her debut as a singer in the nightclub at Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C. and later appeared in a number of nightclubs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and New York City.

Liza Minnelli has recorded a number of albums including Liza Minnelli in 1968, The Singer in 1973 and Tropical Nights in 1977, Gently in 1996 and many others.  Liza has a prominent name in the singing arena. She has won a number of awards and nominations from her singing career.

Liza Minnelli started out in acting like a baby in the very last shot of her mother's film In the Good Old Summertime in 1949. Liza then began to pursue her career as an actress since 1959 as a child guest on the television show. Later, she started to receive offers as a guest in various television shows. 

Liza started out professionally on Broadway at the age of 17 since 1963. At the age of 19, she won the Tony Award for a leading actress for Flora the Red Menace in Broadway.

Liza Minnelli got her first break in the film industry in Charlie Bubbles in 1967. In the short period of her career at the film, she won her first Academy Award nomination for the movie The Sterile Cuckoo in 1969. The same year on September 15, Liza married a producer and director Jack Haley, Jr. but got divorced in April 1979. Shortly later on December 4, she got married to a sculptor and stage manager Mark Gero but her third marriage also could not sustain for long and ended in divorce in January 1992. The reason of her divorces is not made public but is a s sumed to be her extramarital affairs looking at the soonest marriage after the divorce.

Liza Minnelli got married for the fourth time to a concert promoter David Gest on March 16, 2002. The couple separated from each other in July 2003 for the reason that Minnelli beat him in alcohol-induced rages during their marriage. Their divorce was finalized in April 2007.

As per the record of her dating, Liza Minnelli's name is romantically linked with Rock Brynner, Desi Arnaz, Jr., Peter Sellers, and Martin Scorsese. She does not have any children either from her marriage or from her boyfriend. She was once pregnant but while trying to save the baby using the medical steps, she was left with a hiatus hernia.
