Legendary music artist and Rockabilly Hall of Famer Billy Adams has died. The famous musician who wrote and recorded the rockabilly stable Rock, Pretty Mama died on Saturday, March 30 at the age of 79.

His longtime publicist and manager confirmed his death revealing he died in Westmoreland, Tennessee. His funeral was held on Monday, 1st April.

Born in Redbush, Kentucky as one of the 14 children of coal miner parents, Adams told Public Radio International that he strummed a bucket like a guitar and listened to Bill Monroe on the radio before he started his career in music.

Once in an interview, Adams told PRI was inspired to write his famous Rock, Pretty Mama listening to the sound of trains near his home. 

He recorded some famous songs in the 50s that includes True Love Will Come Your Way, You Gotta Have a Duck Tail and You Heard Me Knocking among others.

In 2002, the release of a 27-track collection of his songs led him to perform at Southwest music festivals and others.
