Baseball Player Tyler Skaggs Found Dead At The Age Of 27

Young Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was found dead at his hotel room on Monday, 1st July just two days after his game for the Angels.

The team announced the sad news on Monday afternoon in a statement on Twitter. The statement read:

The Southlake Police Department responded to a call of an unconscious male in a room in the Hilton Hotel.

The statement further continued,

Officers arrived and found the male unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of Skaggs' death is yet to be revealed, whereas police reported no foul play after the preliminary investigation.

The Angels have been to Texas for a four-game series against the Rangers, however, their Monday night game has been since canceled due to the tragic death of the Angels' key player.

Fellow teammate Mike Trout took to his Twitter expressing his grief on Skaggs' death. He wrote: "Words cannot express the deep sadness we feel right now." Here is the post:

As per the sources, Skaggs was drafted by Angels in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He moved to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010 and made his MLB debut in 2012. In 2013, he moved back to Angels and remained there until his death.
