Karl Shiels, widely known for his work in Batman Begins, Into the Badlands, Haywire, and Peaky Blinders, has died on 14th July, Sunday.
Karl’s agent Lisa Richards confirmed the news that he died at the age of 47.
Sharing a statement with RTE, Lisa confirmed that they were profoundly shocked and saddened to learn the sudden died of their client and friend, Karl.
The statement read:
Karl was a uniquely talented individual, simultaneously intense, light-hearted, funny, sharp-witted, outspoken and intensely powerful as an actor, director and artistic director of the Theatre Upstairs.
In the statement, Karl was praised as the support and mentor for young writers and directors.
After Karl’s death news has been published, several high-profile celebrities have been paying tribute on their official social media accounts. Eric Lalor, Tom Moran, Caitriona Daly, Dave Kelly, Darragh Doyle, Gavin O’Connor, Abbey Theater, and Druid Theater have paid their tributes.
