Justin Henry is an American actor. He made his film debut as an eight-year-old in the 1979 legal drama Kramer vs. Kramer, for which he became the youngest actor to be nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

A native of Rye, New York, Henry is a graduate of Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut. He took a hiatus from acting to continue his education. He pursued a degree in psychology from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor in Arts degree.     

Career

Justin Henry made his on-screen debut as a child actor in the Academy Award-winning 1979 legal family drama film Kramer vs. Kramer. The-then eight-year-old played the on-screen son of Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep and the subject of the titular custody battle.

The movie went on to become the highest-grossing film of that year and was nominated for a leading nine Academy Award nominations, winning five.

Among the nine nominations, Justin Henry received a Best Supporting Actor nomination, making him the youngest ever recipient of an Academy Award nomination. As of 2020, he still remains the youngest actor to be nominated for an Oscar Award. He is also the youngest actor to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award.  

Following his breakthrough role, Justin Henry went on to find work in movies like 1984's Sixteen Candles, 1985's Martin's Day, 1988's Sweet Hearts Dance, 2003's My Dinner with Jimi and Finding Home, 2004's Lost, 2007's The Junior Defenders, and 2014's Reaper.     

He also had guest appearances on shows like the ABC fantasy drama series Fantasy Island, the Canadian drama series Danger Bay, the NBC medical drama series ER, the NBC drama series My Own Worst Enemy, and the ABC Family drama series Brothers & Sisters.
