Jose Pekerman

Jose Nestor Pekerman Krimen is an Argentine football Coach and an ex-footballer, who worked as a coach for the Colombian national team.  

He won the FIFA World Youth Championship as the youth level coach for Argentina for three times and U20 South American Youth Championship.

Early Life Of Jose Pekerman

Jose Pekerman was born on 1949 September 3 at Villa Dominguez, Argentina. Pekerman is his paternal family name and Krimen is from the maternal family name as per the Spanish naming customs. This 64-year-old football coach and ex-player currently manage the National Football Team of the Nation Columbia.

Jose Pekerman's Career

Jose Pekerman has a pa s sion for football. He started his youth career from the Argentine Club Argentinos Juniors. His career as a footballer was not that successful compared to his management. He used to play as a midfielder in the pitch.

He debuted his professional football career from Argentinos Juniors in the year 1970, where he played in 134 matches making 12 goals. Later in 1974, he was transferred to Independiente Medellin where he appeared in 101 matches scoring 15 goals.

At the age of 28, Jose Pekerman had ended his career from professional football arena due to a serious knee injury. Due to the reason, to earn the living and support his family, he even started doing odd jobs including working as a taxi driver.

In these odds, later in 1981, there came a chance to this pa s sionate footballer to manage the youth team of Chacarita Juniors. Then the offer came from Argentinos Juniors to coach their youth in 1982. He managed the team for ten years with success.

Later in 1192, he joined the Chile club to coach its youth team. In 1994, he started coaching the Under 20 Argentine National Football Team.

His resume was not that impressive which had surprised many people and had to face criticisms. However, he proved the critics false as the under-20 team won the FIFA World Youth Championship three times under his tenure in 1995, 1997 and 2001.

After finishing his tenure in 2001, he took a break from coaching but came back in action in 2004 as he was named the coach of the first team of Argentine National Football Team. The team was qualified for 2006 FIFA World Cup. He resigned from his position in the year 2006 and joined Toluca in 2007.

He managed this team for a year and made short moved to Tigres as a head coach. Later in 2012, Jose Pekerman became the new coach to Colombian National Team.

Jose Pekerman is the coach who is excellent for the tactical management style in selecting the players that would fit his style of coaching to yield the best in the pitch during the game.

His tactful skill and great vision of management have given many impressive and unpredictable victories of the team. He has long years of management and coaching experience with various teams and players.

Nevertheless, it would not be wise to say he was praised by all as a coach for his style of selection players. There were some scandals and criticisms in the team for him which happened to make him resign as well.
