Jim Bedard is a retired Canadian ice hockey goaltender most known for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League.
Early Life and Career
The talented player was born on November 17, 1956, in Niagara Falls, Canada. He holds Canadian nationality and belongs to North White American ethnicity.
Bedard played the parts of two seasons with the Washington Capitals in 1976 and later on, signed to play in the Finnish SM-Iiiga after playing two seasons in the minor leagues. He played for two seasons with the TPS Turku and was also seen in Finland for about twelve seasons. In 1994, he retired from his games.
After his playing career, Jim worked as the goaltending coach along with Detroit Red Wings for about nineteen seasons. He won three Stanley Cups along with Detroit in 1998, 2002 and 2008.
Furthermore, he was also the goalie coach for the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association. He is active in raising money for children charities.
