Jeremy Renner pays tribute to Chris Cornell; Opens Up about relationship with him

There are many celebrities who knew Chris Cornell personally and Jeremy Renner is one of those.

The singer and Academy Award nominated actor Renner paid tribute to Soundgarden star Cornell and revealed that he almost disliked the singer for his extensive talent.

Renner who knew Cornell through a mutual friend Josh Brolin and Andrew Michael Cooper has recently opened up about his personal relationship with on August 1 at Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show.

Renner said:

He is amazing. Through friends of mine, I've known him for a bit. I was just glad to have any experience with Chris.

Himself a singer and musician, Renner revealed that Cornell was the reason why he never wanted to be a singer. He further said that he would never have a jam session with Cornell and was widely impressed by his talent. 

I was just glad to have any experience with Chris. He was one of the reasons why I never wanted to be a singer because that voice that he had was...I almost hate the guy.

However, Jeremy Renner was stunned hearing his death. Cornell killed himself hanging by the door on May 18. He revealed these during the promotion of his new movie Wind River where he starred alongside Elizabeth Olsen.

Cornell was just 52 when he lost his life. Followed by that, Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington died in the same way on July 20.
