Jeffrey Tambor Leaving ‘Transparent’ Following Sexual Harassment Allegations
Jeffrey Tambor reportedly quitting Amazon's critically-acclaimed show, Transparent following sexual hara s sment claims. The actor officially announced his departure from the show in a statement released to Variety on Sunday night.
Tambor's former a s sistant, Van Barnes accused him of sexual hara s sment on a private Facebook post on November 8. Following her post, Amazon Studios initiated an investigation.
The 73-year-old legend vehemently denied the accusations from two women working on Amazon's Transparent and released a statement on Friday saying he is ''not a predator.''
Tambor told Deadline,
Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life.
He continued,
What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago.
Tambor didn't say he would not return in the fifth season of the hit series, however, as the pressure has been mounting on the Amazon to remove the actor, it's almost confirmed he wouldn't appear in the show again.
