Jason Davis, Actor Who Provided Voice in ‘Recess,’ Dies at Age 35

Jason Davis, a former child star who provided the voice of Mikey Blumberg in the Disney Channel animated television series Recess, died on Sunday, February 16, in Los Angeles. He was 35.

He was the son of Nebil Zarif, a winegrower, and Nancy Davis Rickel. He is also the grandson of the late Hollywood billionaire mogul Marvin Davis and Barbara Davis.

His mom Nancy Davis Rickel confirmed the news of his death to The Hollywood Reporter. In a statement to the outlet, she said,

I am so heartbroken to share the saddest news of my life that my son Jason Davis pa s sed away this morning in Los Angeles.

She added,

Jason had a true heart of gold with such a zest for life. He was such a caring soul to everybody who ever knew him. He loved his friends and his family above all else. We ask for privacy as we take time to grieve this most devastating loss.

As for his cause of death, the family has not spoken how the actor pa s sed away.

From 1997 to 2001, Davis voiced Mikey Blumberg on the Disney Channel animated TV series Recess. He had also appeared as a child in Dave’s World and Roseanne.

As for his film appearances, Davis has appeared in Rush Hour, Mafia! and Beverly Hills Ninja. He was the co-founder of Cure Addiction Now.

Davis is survived by two brothers, Brandon and Alexander, and two half-sisters, Isabella and Mariella Rickel.
