American actor, Jason Thomas Butler Harner is known for his appearances in Non-Stop, The Green, Letters from the Big Man, Kill the Irishman, The Extra Man, and Changeling. His television roles include Ozark, Ray Donovan, Scandal, The Blacklist, Betrayal, Homeland, The Newsroom, and Alcatraz.

Early Life And Education Of Jason Butler Harner

Jason Thomas Butler Harner was born on the 9th of October, 1970 and is current age is 45 years old. He was born in Elmira, New York as the son of Freddy William Harner and mother Neena Butler. Growing up around Northern Virginia, he attended the T. C. Williams High School in Alexandra, where he practiced acting and also was a good basketball player.

He was not so good with his studies but always had a pa s sion for building different things, as some of his teachers told his parents so. Although he was made the president of his high school drama club, still he had interest in building new things and designs as he was influenced by the history of his family members being carpenters.

Upon graduating from high school in 1988, he started to act in Eisenhower Theater at Washington D.C. Working for some time; he attended the Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a Bachelors’ degree in Fine Arts, with acting his major and graduated in 1992.

He practiced for some time at Actors Theatre of Louisville and then moved to New York City where he joined the Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 1997 with a Masters in Fine Arts.

He later returned to Virginia Commonwealth University in 2007/ 08 as the Master Teacher in Guest Artist program. Jason is a Christian by religion and belongs to white ethnicity. He is an American citizen by nationality.

Jason Butler Harner's Career

He started his theatrical career from 1990, after first appearing in A.R Gurney’s What I Did Last Summer, in Virginia. Then after he moved to New York, he played in Loved Less (The History of Hell) which was hosted in Theater Downtown Art Company, New York City in the May of 1994. 

Then he appeared in another play Hydriotaphia or the Death of Dr. Browne which was during his final year at Tisch School. He has appeared in a number of plays like An Experiment with an Air Pump (1999), James Cromwell (2000), Crimes of the Heart (2001), and Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme (2003).

His other credits include Ed in Five Flights (2004), The Gla s s Menagerie (2004), Orange Flower (2005), The Cherry Orchard (2006), The Gingerbread House (2009), The Skin of Our Teeth (2011) and many others. Apart from those, he has also starred in many movies like Trifling with Fate (2000), The Good Shepherd (2006), Kill the Irishman (2010), Non-Stop (2014) etc.
