Jack Antonoff is a famous American musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He is well recognized as the lead singer and songwriter of Bleachers, which is an indie-pop act founded in New York and lead guitarist of Fun.
Also in the previous days, he used to sing and write songs for the band named Steel Train and even has established his own music festival called Shadow of The City, happens in New Jersey every year.
Adding up to his achievements, he has won three Grammy Awards and a nomination for Golden Globe Award.
Education and Early Life
Jack Antonoff was born to Shira and Rick Antonoff in Bergenfield, New Jersey on March 31, 1984, and is the middle child of his parents.
They were the family of five but unfortunately, his younger sister, Sarah, died of brain cancer at the age of 13. His other sister Rachel Antonoff is a fashion designer.
As far as his nationality is concerned, he is American and is of White-American ethnicity.
He was a student of an elementary school at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County as both Antonoff and his sister grew up in New Milford, New Jersey, and Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. For the higher studies, he went to Manhattan with his sister to attend Professional Children's School.
He was interested in singing and songwriting ever since his childhood, so Antonoff with his other friends formed a punk rock band named "Outline."
Soon they were able to book shows in many states such as Florida and Texas and started touring. As most of them were 15 at that time and the oldest member of the band was 18-year-old, he was the one who used to drive them all to their performances and tours.
Jack Antonoff, in one of his interview, stated that his love for tours started because of his band Outline which lasted from 1998 to 2002.
Career
His professional career started in 2002 when he and his friend Scott Irby-Ranniar, formed the band named Steel Train where Antonoff was a lead vocalist.
After the formation of the band, Antonoff and his friends convinced two of their friends to drop out of college and join their new group. Later, they got their deal to work with Drive-Thru Records.
In 2008, Antonoff joined another band with Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost named Fun. They took out their first album Aim and Ignite in 2009 and the second album Some Nights in 2012 which included the number one single We are Young.
In 2013, the song featuring Fun titled Sight of the Sun was released as the soundtrack to the HBO series Girls. The same year, he co-wrote song Brave with Sara Bareilles. Also, he co-wrote a song "Sweeter Than Fiction," with Taylor Swift for the film, One Chance.
In 2014 he announced his solo project called "Bleachers" and stated that project had been a consideration for around 10 years. The name of his solo project was inspired by "disconnected, darker side" of suburban youth and John Hughes' movies.
On Feb 18, 2014, he released Bleachers' first single, "I Wanna Get Better" which was considered to be more fun than his previous band fun by Time and also received a positive review in The Huffington Post.
He also co-wrote and co-produced three songs with Taylor Swift included in the album 1989, which was released in October 2014 and became the biggest-selling album in the U.S. that year. Also their song "Look What You Made Me Do" was released on August 25, 2017, and peaked at #1.
Personal Life
Jack Antonoff was in a relationship with Lena Dunham for almost five years, but unfortunately, the couple parted ways in December 2017.
Though their separation wasnt made public, some insiders stated that the news was confirmed and that it was a mutual and amicable breakup.

Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was.
The couple started dating back in 2012, first met on a blind date. Previously Dunham even joked about her boyfriend saying people will soon see her pregnant with twins.

Though the couple has parted ways, its been reported that they want best for each other and are busy in their own work at the moment.
