Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently thanked the people of India for making him a historic mandate of five more years in office after a huge victory in the general election.

While addressing victory to the supporters of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Narendra Modi claimed that everyone wants a new India and he wanted to bow his head and thank everyone.

The prime minister said that the victory was for the whole nation and has vowed to build a strong and inclusive India.

68 years old politician Modi was showered with rose petals by thousands of supporters after he arrived at the BJP headquarters on Thursday evening.

Till now, BJP has won 303 seats out of the 543 seats in parliament. It seems to take a larger share of the vote than votes received in the 2014 elections.

The main opposition alliance, Congress Party, which is headed by Rahul Gandhi has admitted defeat.
