by Joey Jordan,

A New York judge Gerald Leibovitz blocked an impending auction of the late rapper Tupac Shakur's love letter along with pop star Madonna's personal items including a pair of previously worn panties and hairbrush containing her hair.

The Manhattan state Supreme court Judge, Gerald Leibovitz, ordered Gotta Have It! Collectibles to pull off 22 sensitive items from the auction- a rock-and-roll-themed auction scheduled for today (Wednesday19th July).

Earlier, Madonna filed a request to halt the sale of her several personal items. She said,

The fact that I have attained celebrity status as a result of success in my career does not obviate my right to maintain my privacy, including with regard to highly personal items" in her court papers.

In addition, she also mentioned,

I understand that my DNA could be extracted from a piece of my hair. It is outrageous and grossly offensive that my DNA could be auctioned for sale to the general public.

Soon after her request, the Manhattan Supreme court judge ordered to stop the online auction temporarily.

The rapper Tupac and Madonna dated for a short time in the early nineties. Tupac wrote a letter in jail where he had revealed their relationship ended as 'Madonna was white'.
