Early life and education

Ian Brzezinski was born as Ian Joseph Brzezinski in 1963 in the United States of America. He belongs to white ethnicity and holds an American nationality.

 Brzezinski is the son of Zbigniew Brzezinski and Emilie Benes Brzezinski. His father was a Polish-American diplomat and political scientist whereas his mother is an American sculptor.

Brzezinski’s family and siblings are all somehow connected with the government or foreign policies of United States. He is the brother of American television news journalist Mika Brzezinski and American lawyer and foreign policy expert Mark Brzezinski. He is also the first cousin of Matthew Brzezinski.

In 1982 Brzezinski joined William College where Brzezinski obtained Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affair in 1986.

Brzezinski attended Harvard Kennedy School of Government where he earned Masters degree in public Administration in 1989.

Career

After completing his graduation from his college, Brzezinski got a job as a support analyst at the National Security Council in 1986.

Brzezinski spent the next handful of years bouncing between various government positions, including as a consultant for the Center for Naval Analysis in 1991 & 1992, and time membership on the Policy Planning Staff in the Department of Defense from 1991 to 1993.   

Between 2001 and 2005, he worked as the deputy a s sistant secretary of defense for the NATO policy in Europe.

At the beginning of his career, around the early 90s; he volunteered himself as an advisor to Ukraine’s government and worked under several wings like; Foreign Ministry, Defense Ministry as well as Parliament.

After returning to the USA in 1995, he worked for National Security Affairs as a legislative a s sistant and gradually rose to a professional staff member for U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Ian Brzezinski currently serves as a Strategic Advisors Group at the Atlantic Council, a position he has held since 2010.

Personal life

Ian Brzezinski is married to Managing Director of Comeback Careers, Ginny Flynn-Brzezinski with whom he has a son named William Zbigniew Brzezinski born on 1999.

Brzezinski’s father died on May 26, 2017, at the age of 89 in Falls Church, Virginia.
