Hurricane Maria Regains Its Strength As It Reaches Near Dominican Republic Leaving Puerto Rico

Hurricane Maria has regained its strength on Thursday as it reaches near the Dominican Republic leaving Puerto Rico devastated.

The storm which had weakened to category two by Wednesday evening has gained its strength back by Thursday and as it has moved due Dominican.

 

The eye of the hurricane has moved off Puerto Rico’s coast on Wednesday afternoon- still causing catastrophic flooding on the island on early Thursday. The National Weather Office at San Juan said, ‘’if possible, move to higher ground NOW!”

Maria tore the Puerto Rico off on Wednesday unleashing destructive winds- knocked out power to the entire island, and ‘catastrophic’ flooding. It left behind hundreds of damaged houses and cut in electricity in the U.S. territory Rico.

President Trump tweeted, ‘’we are with you and the people of Puerto Rico’’ to the Governor Ricardo Rosello.

The storm is expected to turn due north parallel to the East Coast. However, it is not yet clear how close it tracks to the coast by next week.
