The 62-year-old Indian American business executive who joined PepsiCo in 1994 became the chief financial officer in 2001. Since then PepsiCo's annual net profit rose to $6.5 billion from $2.7 billion.

Nooyi has also been involved in several charity events. She donated an unrevealed amount of money to the prestigious Yale School of Management in 2016 becoming the school's biggest alumni donor. 

The business school also has started a deanship in honor of her donation making her the first woman to endow the deanship at the top business school.

She said at the time:

 "My experience at the Yale School of Management forever altered the course of my life," 

She added:

"My gift to this wonderful institution pales in comparison with the gift that Yale gave me — the fundamental understanding that leadership requires an expansive worldview and a deep appreciation of the many points of intersection between business and society."

Prior, Nooyi was also involved in several charity supports like the construction of classrooms, the Nooyi classroom, and the Isaacson classroom as a tribute to Professor Larry Isaacson.
