Gerald Lee “Mac” McRaney was born on August 19, 1974, in Collins Mississippi, United States America. McRaney is American television and movie actor and is best known as one of the stars of the television shows Simon and Simon, Major Dad, and Promised Land. Clyde McRaney is the father of Gerald McRaney and his mother is Edna McRaney. He has a one younger brother Buddy McRaney.  He spent his childhood with his English family.

Education and Career

Gerald McRaney attended the University of Mississippi. Before hitting it big as an actor, he also worked in the Louisiana oil fields. After some time in a film, he starred In Night of Bloody Horror (1969). In addition, he also featured in numerous episodes of 'The Incredible Hulk'. He has acted in many television films such as 'Not Our Son' (1995), 'Going for Broke' (2003), as General George S. Patton, and 'One Tree Hill' as Dan’s father.

In 2010, Gerald McRaney featured as the villainous General Morrison in the film The A-Team (2010) and he played a recurring role as CIA handler Carlton Shaw in the NBC action drama 'Undercovers'. Again in 2011, he got a role in the television shows 'Longmire'. In 2015, he was a part of the dark comedy 'Focus' as Bucky Spurgeon and in Coat of Many Colors.

Early in his career, Gerald McRaney dated Polly Businger. He has married and divorced several times and Delta Burke, whom he married on May 28, 1989, is her third wife.
