A suburban Atlanta woman, Isabel Martinez plead guilty to fatally stabbing her kids and husband and seriously injuring another daughter.

The 35 years old woman has pleaded guilty but mentally ill on Tuesday to five counts of murder and other charges. According to WSB-TV reports, she was sentenced to five life sentences with an addition to the possibility of parole plus 21 years.

The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office declined her death penalty after discovering her mental health problem.

The incident took place on July 2017 when Isabel killed Martin Romero, 33,  Axel Romero, 2, Dillan Romero, 4, Dacota Romero, 7, Isabela Martinez, 10 and attacked Diana Romero, 9 who is still injured.

As per the friend of Isabel who told Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she was mentally ill and depressed before she killed her family members. The lady also added that she had outbursts of anger and sadness.
