Garrett Temple

Garrett Bartholomew Temple was born on 8th May 1986 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he spent his childhood playing basketball. He is the son of Collis Temple and Soundra Johnson Temple. His father, Collis was the first African-American to have played basketball at Louisiana State University.

Garett has 3 siblings, a younger sister named Colleen Noelle and two older brothers named Collis III and Elliot Temple. Garrett wears a wrist band that reads ‘In Jesus Name I Play and is a strong Christian.

Educational Details

Garrett attended LSU Laboratory High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and later attended Louisiana State University in 2005. While there, Garrett played a defensive stopper as a freshman.

He played 36 games in total in 2005-06 and went on to average 5.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in 33.3 minutes per game. During his soph 0re season, Garrett went on to become the 10th best in SEC with 138 assists and 83 turnovers.

Early Career

Later in his junior year, Garrett went on to play a team-high 1066 minutes and was ranked 11th position in the league in the assists average. He played a total of 31 games in which he managed to average 6.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

In his senior season, Garrett went on to play 35 games in which he averaged a total of 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Thus he became LSU’s all-time leader in minutes played which was 4432 minutes.

Ready to be drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft

Later in 2009, he announced that he was ready to be drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft. However, Garrett remained undrafted and thus in 2009, he began playing for NBA Development league’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Then in 2010, he went on to play for Houston Rockets and then for Sacramento Kings. Later he went on to play for San Antonio Spurs.

Then again in 2010, he began to play for Rio Grande Valley Vipers. For the 2010-2011 season, Garrett began playing for Development League’s Erie BayHawks. In 2011 he went on to play for Milwaukee Bucks and then for D-League’s Erie Bayhawks back again. In 2011 he was called by the Charlotte Bobcats to play for a short time.

Signed with Italian league’s

Then on 27th July 2011, he signed a 1 years deal with the Italian league’s Novipiu Casale Monferrato. Garrett went on to play 28 games with them and averaged a total of 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.5 steals. In 2012 he played for D-League’s Reno Bighorns.

On 25th December 2012, he was signed to Washington Wizards. On 10th July a year later, He resigned with them, and again on 18th July of the next year, he resigned from a two years $2 million deal with the Wizards.

Garrett is allegedly dating his girlfriend Olivier Lyle. The couple is seen often in the public but they have not announced it publicly. Garrett does not have any children and has not had a marriage or a divorce.
