Former WWE Star Don Leo Jonathan Dies At 87

Another Loss For The Wrestling World!

Former WWE star and legend Don Leo Jonathan died at 87. Jonathan, who was popular as The Mormon Giant took his last breath on Saturday, 13th October, Daily Mail reported.

The official website for WWE announced his death and tributed him in a statement which read:

 WWE is saddened to learn that Don Leo Jonathan has pa s sed away at the age of 87.

It further wrote:

A second-generation performer, Jonathan was one of the most feared big men from his era. From the 1950s throughout the '70s, the Hurricane, Utah, native was a box-office attraction across the globe. Weighing as much as 340 pounds during his career, The Mormon Giant's adaptability allowed him to wrestle a scientific match or brawl with the best of them, depending on the situation.

WWE ended the post extending the condolences to late Jonathan's family, friends, and fans. It wrote:

WWE extends its condolences to Jonathan's family, friends and fans.

Jonathan, the second-generation performer, was one of the most vigorous wrestlers from 1950s through 1970s. He followed his father's footstep to chase his career in wrestling who fought under the moniker Brother Jonathan.

Jonathan is remembered for his historic matches against the greatest wrestlers like Andre the Giant, Killer Kowalski and Gene Kiniski.

Don Jonathan grabbed several wrestling titles in Canada including IWA World Heavyweight Championship, NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship, and NWA Canadian Open Tag Team Titles.

Before Jonathan pursued his career in wrestling, he served in the US Navy following his high school education.
