The 29-year-old former adult actress turned drug mule was arrested in last August in Australia after the border authorities found more than 30 kilograms of cocaine in her suitcase. In late 2016, Lagace pleaded guilty to importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, but she also stated she was given an ultimatum about clearing a $20,000 debt to an unnamed person.

She claimed she was compelled to carry the suitcase after the anonymous person began to threaten her and he told her debt will only be cleared if she provided a bag, filled with a substance to another passenger.

She took full responsibility for her action in the evidence presented to the NSW District Court on Friday. She said, "I have embarrassed my family, my friends, myself."

Lagace criticized the Canadian media for its coverage of the crime which called her a ''soft core porn starlet- which was based on a previous photoshoot she did.
