Former NFL Star Isaiah Robertson Dies In A Car Crash In Texas-He Was 69
Former NFL player Isaiah 'Butch Robertson is no more. The former LA Rams and Buffalo Bills linebacker died in a car crash in Texas. He was 69.
The Limousine he was driving skidded on a rain-slicked curve on a Texas highway at around 10 p.m. on Thursday, 6th December.
Robertson died just hours after he delivered some motivational speech among high school students in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie. He had been heading to his home after dropping off his limo driver.
The accident occurred at around 70 miles away from the school, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.
The investigator said the vehicle Robertson driving entered the curve at over speed for the rainy condition which led it to veer off the road before a pickup truck hit it knocking into the southbound lane where it was further struck by an oncoming car.
The Garland-native was then taken to an Athens hospital which is at 20 miles away from the scene where he was pronounced dead upon arriving.
On the other hand, the truck driver, who suffered minor injuries was discharged after treatment while the driver of another car remained unharmed. After Robertson's death news was announced, the LA Rams released a statement expressing their sorrow on his sudden demise. The statement read:
We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our Legends, Isiah Robertson. He will be remembered not only for the great player he was, helping our team achieve multiple division championships in the '70s, but also by the work he did helping others.
Funeral arrangement will be announced on upcoming days. Rest In Peace The Legend!
