Former NBA player Charles Oakley released after courtside skirmish results in arrest and jail

Charles Oakley is a former NBA player who played for numerous clubs. He is also the former member of NBA Association’s Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and Houston Rockets.

Currently, he is highlighted in the media due to the fight with security guards in Madison Square Garden on 7 February. So, let’s find out why he argued and fought with them, here.

Why security guard ejected Oakley?

Former NBA player Charles Oakley is facing a s sault charges after he allegedly attacked security guards at Madison Square Guard after the incident with team owner James Dolan.

He pushed and argued with security guards during the match between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers, on 7 February 2016. Since then, he has been a hot topic for media.

The game stopped for some minutes when Oakley left the garden. Meanwhile, his fans were supporting him by shouting Oakley! Oakley!

Then, he spent one night in the jail and released from Midtown South Precinct shortly after midnight. When he  was freed from the jail, he explained about the incident.

What happened is me and four friends went to the game tonight, to watch the Knicks and Clippers. We did sit down, trying to have a good time. Next thing I know I was asked to leave the building, I asked, 'Why?' and they said, 'You have to leave because someone ordered you to leave.' And I'm like, 'I've been here four and a half minutes.

Charles Claimed that he did not know the reason why he was not welcomed into the garden but he understood that he did not get on well with the Knicks management.

The 53-years-old NBA Player is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and other clubs. Charles started his NBA Career in 1988 from the Chicago Bulls.

In his time with Chicago Bulls, he played with famous players like Michael Jordan, Dave Corzine, and Horace Grant. He also served as an a s sistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats under the head coach Paul Silas from 2010/11 season.

The veteran player left the position in December 2011 after experiencing health issues with back pain during the season. Oakley was one of the best rebounders in the NBA of his time who played for almost two decades. He also won several awards during his NBA playing career.
