by Joey Jordan,

A father was arrested along with three other men on suspicion of an acid attack over his three-year-old son, Mail Online confirmed.

The 39-year-old man was the first suspect arrested by the police after the boy was targeted with the acid while he was with mother in a shopping center.

Police arrested three men of ages 22, 23, and 26 in a belief of having a connection with the acid attack Shrub Hill Retail Park on Saturday.

West Mercia police Chief Superintendent Mark Travis said that police were trying to identify the substance that burned the child. Travis released a statement saying,

At this time we are treating this as a deliberate attack. The incident will rightly shock the local community, and I would like to rea s sure local people that we are carrying out a thorough investigation

The baby was released from the hospital on Sunday; however, the officials said that the long-term health implications are not cleared.

The mother and the child, who are believed to be from Eastern Europe, are hiding in a safe-house after a fractious break-up. They have been living in a police safe house in fear they could be attacked again.

A neighbor said that the woman and her partner had a dispute and the attack might have been the result of the family dispute. However, the exact reason is yet to be revealed.
