Drink-drive Student Is Jailed For Five Years After Killing Husband And Wife Smashing Into Them At 112mph On Wrong Side Of Road
A Drink-driver Student Has Been Jailed For Killing A Couple In A Horror Crash While Driving At 112 mph.
Twenty years old Benjamin Bosden is the reason behind the deaths of 55 years old David Evans and his wife Linda who is 48 years old.
Benjamin drove the car on the wrong side at the 60mph road at double the drink-drive limit driving at 112mph. Likewise, his 18 years old girlfriend pa s senger also suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
David and his wife Linda died instantly when his car smashed into their Ford Ranger on 9th September 2017, at about 11:30 pm.
Benjamin was driving a Mini Countyman, John Cooper Works model when he crossed the southbound carriageway and smashed into the Ford. The Ford stopped in its tracks and was pushed backward off the road where the couple was killed.
In the statement, Evans family said:
The irresponsible and thoughtless actions of one young man have caused the death of two people.
The speedometer on the Mini Coutryman was found struck at 112mp.
The student of Heathfield, East Sussex, Benjamin admitted two counts of death by dangerous driving and one count for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Benjamin was sentenced to five years at Lewes Crown Court.
