  • Police have still been investigating for the cause of his death, however, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher reported no foul play.

Dr. Jim Raman, popularly known as the runner up of the 25th season of US television show The Amazing Race has died. People confirmed he died in his South Carolina home at 42.

The Irmo, S.C. native Raman and his wife Misti competed on the long-running CBS reality show in 2014 and came second. Food scientists Amy DeJong and Maya Warren were announced the winner of the season.

The cause of his death is yet to be revealed. Lexington County Sheriff's spokesperson said police was called to Raman's house at 4:30 on Tuesday morning, March 12. Raman was found dead at the scene.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released a statement after his death saying,

Nothing suspicious or criminal is involved with the case you are referencing and out of compa s sion and respect for family, my office will not comment on it.

After Raman's sudden and untimely demise, his dental practice released a statement addressing its patients. The statement read:

Irmo Smiles has suffered a tragic loss this week. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the pa s sing for Dr. Jim Raman.

The statement continued,

As our staff and the family prepare for Dr. Raman’s celebration of life, please join us in praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dr. Raman is survived by his wife Misti Raman.
