One of the most versatile and consistent midfielders of the generation David Silva is nicknamed as Merlin due to his magical pa s sing skills and vision on the pitch. Eight years for Manchester City and he has appeared more than 300 times for the club and has an FA Cup, three league cups and three premier titles to his name. Often playing in midfield and pulling strings for the team, he does not get much credit for the win as the strikers get but that cannot defy quality and presence of David Silva in the blue side of Manchester. 

He was also part of Spanish National team who won everything at the peak including World Cup and two back to back European cups. Aged 32 but still integral part of the Pep Guardiola's rampant city it seems he has more medals coming to his name in the near future.

David Silva's Early Life And Career

David Josue Jiminez Silva, mostly known as David Silva, was born on 8 January 1986 in Arguineguin Canary Islands to father Fernando Jimenez and to mother Eva Silva. His nationality is Spanish and belongs to Caucasian ethnicity. His maternal lineage spreads to Japan while his father was a municipal police officer who was responsible for guarding Valencia FC stadium.

At first, he played as a Goalkeeper then switched to winger during his playing days in UD San Fernando. He was scouted by Valencia CF  and offered him in youth team which he accepted. His debut came when he was loanee on Eibar and played his first professional match in 2004/05 season.

He scored five times during the season making 35 league appearances. After that, he was again sent to loan on Celta de Vigo for which he scored four goals. After his return to Valencia, he was an automatic starter though he was just 20 years of age.

He scored his first goal for Valencia in the draw against Espanyol on 5 November 2006. He stayed in Valencia up to 2009-10 season and made 161 appearances for the club scoring 29 goals.

Though many Premier league clubs were interested in Silva, he joined Manchester city in 2010/11 season for a fee of $41 million. He made his premier league debut against Tottenham Hotspurs in white heart lane on 14 August 2010 in 0-0 draw.

His first goal for City came in 16th September against RB Salzburg in Europa league. On 17th October he scored his first league goal for Manchester City against Blackpool.  In his first season, he made 53 appearances and scored six goals and was hailed as the best signing of City by Carlos Tevez.

Silva's second season saw him winning Premier league medal and finished the season with 15 a s sists and eight goals to his name. Two years later City again won the Premier league with David Silva being instrumental in the midfield.

In 2016-2017 season Silva won the Etihad player of the season as voted by the fans. In the 2nd season as manager Pep Guardiola's city became rampant winning record making 18 games in a row and winning the Premier League. 

In his eight seasons at Manchester city, Silva has won three Premier League medals and scored 61 goals in 345 appearances. 

David's Silva International Career

David Silva has marvelous International Career which includes 1 World Cup and 2 Euro Cups as major senior honors. He represented Spain for the first time in FIFA Under 17 World Championship. He made his first senior international appearance in the home defeat against Romania in November 2006. He scored his first and second goal for Spain in the same match against Greece in International Friendly match.

Silva was selected for 23 man Squad in  Euro 2008 in which Spain ended up as Winners which was followed by FIFA world cup 2010 Champions held in South Africa. He played all six matches of Euro 2012, and again Spain ended up with title becoming the first team ever to defend Euro Cup.

However, a poor performance by the national team in 2014 World cup witnessed what pundits called "End of an Era " for the magical Spanish team.  In his 118 appearances for Spanish national team, he scored 35 goals.

. According to some sources, they both have known each other since the age of four. Their wedding date was also kept private and is rumored that she lives in Valencia rather than Manchester.

In 2018 Silva missed several of City's game due to the premature birth of his son. It is reported that he is in good condition now and Silva couple has named him Mateo.

David Silva has a brother named Nando Silva Jimenez who looks like him and sister Natalia Jimenez Silva. Rather than spending his time in nightclubs, he prefers hanging out with close friends on sunny beaches.
