The winner of multiple Academy Awards and Edward R. Murrow Awards was born on November 8, 1973, in Syracuse, New York to Jewish parents Pat Mills and Ronald Muir.
He grew up in Onondaga Hill with HIS sister Becky. He graduated magna cum laude with a BA degree in Journalism before which he studied in the Onondaga Junior-Senior High School and Park School of Communications. He also studied at the University of Salamanca in Spain.
He later joined WCVB Television and worked there from 2000 to 2003. He was based in Boston and was an anchor and reporter for the television. He obtained the Edward R. Murrow Award and the National Headliner Award along with the Associated Press honors when working there. That's what led ABC to hire him and he finally joined ABC News in August 2003.
