It was just fake news! Daniel Radcliffe, who has been surrounded by rumors that his test for the novel coronavirus is positive, has shut down the fake rumor that he doesn't have the virus in his body.

The Harry Potter star, 30, had an interview on Smallzy’s Surgery, an Australian radio show, on Wednesday, March 11.

He told the radio host,

I walked into the hair and makeup room on a play yesterday, and the makeup artist was like, ‘My niece has just texted me and told me you’ve got corona.’

He added,

I think it was on a fake BBC account, but then enough people saw it. That is the internet.

His coronavirus rumors surfaced earlier this week when a fake Twitter account of BBC News posted a tweet, stating that Radcliffe "tests positive" for the illness.

The Twitter account claimed the Miracle Workers actor was the first celebrity to have a test for coronavirus positive.

However, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, who have been married since April 1988, are the first celebrities to get infected by the virus.

The couple's test for coronavirus turned positive when they were in Australia where Hanks was filming for the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann.
