Dabbs starred in over 200 different TV series playing many diverse supporting roles. From 1957-59, he was cast in the TV series How to Marry a Millionaire. The actor obtained massive fame following his breakout role in the hit TV series Little House on the Prairie. He had the prominent role of Reverend Alden in the NBC series from 1974 to 1983.
In 1999, Geer played his last film role in The Green Mile. The movie starred Tom Hanks, David Morse, and Bonnie Hunt. The following year, Greer went on to play the role in Diagnosis: Murder. And his last TV appearance was Lizzie McGuire, in 2003. He portrayed Moe in the series in which he shared the screen along with Hilary Duff, Lalaine, and Adam Lamberg.
