A sad news for the music industry! Joe Diffie, a country singer who hit in the ‘90s with songs like Third Rock From the Sun and John Deere Green has died. He was 61.

His publicist confirmed his death news to Rolling Stone, saying that he pa s sed away on March 29. As for the cause of death, Diffie died after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

He had tested positive for COVID-19 just two days earlier before he pa s sed away. In a statement, he said on March 27,

I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment. The public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.

Born in Tulsa and raised in Velma, Oklahoma, Diffie had released numerous hit songs such as “Home,” “If the Devil Danced,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” “Pickup Man,” and “Bigger Than the Beatles.”

He charted 18 Top Ten singles among which the 1993 radio staples "John Deere Green” and "Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox" reached the Top Five.
