Clive Myrie, the BBC News star and host of Mastermind, and his wife Catherine Myrie have been married for 25 years.  In an interview with Express.co.uk, Clive opened up about how he and Catherine first crossed paths. It was 1992, and Clive was at the London launch of a book about Swiss cheeses. It is not publicly known for sure whether Myrie and his wife Catherine share any children together.

At the time, Catherine was working in publishing. Six years later, the couple tied the knot at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Covent Garden. Clive had just been made the BBC's LA correspondent, and after returning to the UK for their nuptials, he flew back to the States before honeymooning on Venezuela's Maracaibo coast.

Clive has credited his wife for giving him the "courage and space to pursue his dreams". In an interview with The Guardian, Clive revealed the secret to their 25-year marriage: "In the words of Michael Caine, separate bathrooms make a marriage. Figuratively speaking, at least," he said. "Having a space that's your own; spending time alone, to bond when reunited. My wife, Catherine, has her interests. I do, too. We celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, and each still has our own identity."

It is not publicly known whether Clive and Catherine share children. Italy holds a special place in the couple's hearts, as they holiday there every year and even chose to celebrate Clive's 40th birthday on the Amalfi Coast.

Clive Myrie's passion for journalism ignited at an early age while growing up in Bolton, Lancashire. Watching the legendary Sir Trevor McDonald OBE on television served as a profound inspiration. Despite the limited availability of journalism-focused degrees in the early 1980s, Myrie pursued a law degree at the University of Sussex.

During his time as a student, he actively engaged with campus radio, honing his skills and setting the stage for his future in broadcasting. Upon graduation, he seized the opportunity to apply for the prestigious BBC reporters training scheme.
